Darren Crawford

Darren has been Tutoring and Teaching on the Gold Coast for the past 9 years and has a Bachelor of Business from Griffith University on the Gold Coast. He loves surfing, travelling and going to watch the Gold Coast Titans play in the NRL competition. He has been a long time supporter and active member of the Griffith University Gold Coast Student Guild, and understands the problems that all students face when trying to reach their academic goals.
He believes that for ESL students, learning English should be fun and practical – “Real English for real life!” – and has made many friends with past students from South Korea and Japan, whom he keeps in contact with and visits regularly.

Chie Crawford

Chie is from Saitama in Japan, and has lived and worked on the Gold Coast for the past 6 years. Having been an ESL student herself - she also lived and studied in Hawaii - Chie understands the problems that most students from Asian countries have about the differences in language and culture when they first visit Australia. Chie has also taught English to children in Japan, and specializes in translating and interpreting written Japanese/English texts, and can tutor English speakers in Japanese.
